Research
Our research interests lie in the field of lactic acid bacteria, with emphasis on taxonomy, physiology, genetics, metabolism, bacteriocins, probiotics, bioinformatics and technological performance, with more than 280 publications in the above fields.
Since 1987, we have been committed in maintaining several active international collaborations with both academic and industrial partners across Europe and Oceania, being involved in EU funded projects, National projects and projects funded by third parties.
